Tennis Tote Bags for Women: Tote, Backpack, or Racket Bag?

Work, tennis, and dinner afterward: we designed the NST Tennis Tote around the whole day, with dedicated racket and shoe storage alongside everyday essentials.

Work in the morning, tennis at six, then dinner on the way home. A day like that calls for a bag with space for the plans on either side of the match. We designed the NST Tennis Tote for exactly that rhythm: two racket pockets on the outside, a separate shoe compartment underneath, and a padded laptop compartment inside.

That layout is the reason we chose a tote. Your tennis gear has dedicated storage, while the main compartment holds the everyday things you want close by. The quilted shape works with court clothes, jeans, and the sweater you pull on afterward. If you are comparing tennis tote bags for women, this is where our design begins: the whole day you want to carry it through.

Tote, backpack, or racket bag: what changes?

Start with where the bag sits as you move and how you reach your belongings. These are the basic differences in carrying style.

Tennis backpackAcross both shouldersA back-carry format that leaves both hands free
Multi-racket bagCarrying straps vary by modelSeveral rackets and match equipment

For NST, the appeal of a tote is in those frequent arrivals and departures. Set it beside you at work, lift it onto your shoulder for the court, and reach into the top for your phone before leaving. We give rackets and shoes their own places so those everyday movements remain part of the design.

An everyday shape, with room over your shoulder

A bag you carry beyond tennis should feel like part of your wardrobe. Our diamond-pattern quilting gives the Tennis Tote its shape and texture, while the nylon fabric is water-resistant for everyday splashes. The blue tote below shows how that combination looks with a sweater and jeans, away from the court. For more outfit ideas, see our quilted tennis tote styling guide.

Size is worth getting familiar with before you choose. The body measures 17 inches long, 7.1 inches deep, and 14.6 inches high. A handle drop of about 11 inches gives you a useful measurement to check against the handles of a bag you carry over a jacket. Compare the measurements with a tote you already reach for to get a useful sense of its proportions.

Our Tennis Tote FAQ brings the dimensions, materials, and care guidance together.

At the court, your rackets have their own place

The NST carries two rackets in dedicated front and rear pockets, one on each side. The handles stay exposed for access, and the racket positions leave the main compartment available for your personal items. You can take a racket out at the court without reaching through the clothes inside.

The front and rear views below show each pocket in use. With a racket on either side, you can see the arrangement at a glance when you pick up the bag.

After the match, shoes go underneath

The lower shoe compartment has its own zippered entrance. Change out of your court shoes, put them underneath, and reach into the main compartment for your sweater or phone without moving the shoes again. That separation is useful when tennis is one stop in a longer day.

The compartment measures 40 × 27 cm. For a closer look at its opening and layout, our shoe-compartment guide walks through the details.

Keep the rest of your day in the main compartment

Inside, the padded laptop compartment gives your computer a dedicated place. Clothes and everyday belongings go in the main compartment, while smaller pockets organize items such as your keys and charging cable. The NST Tennis Tote has 35L of total capacity and 11 storage compartments.

Think about the things you reach for between destinations. Your phone might come out at the café, your keys at the car, and your laptop when you settle down to work. Giving those items a regular pocket makes packing for tennis feel like an extension of getting ready for the day.

That is the tote we wanted to make: a familiar shoulder carry with the racket, shoe, and everyday storage built into it. See the NST Tennis Tote for more views of the compartments and color options, and picture where it would go with you after the court.
